You deserve to feel heard
At Embrace Trauma Therapy, we offer trauma-informed therapy in Melbourne and online for adults seeking deeper healing and connection. We are experienced in working with PTSD, complex trauma, dissociative disorders, traumatic grief and loss, and ongoing mood and anxiety concerns.
Sessions provide a steady, collaborative space to explore what you’re experiencing, strengthen awareness, and support your nervous system in a way that feels safe and manageable.
We also offer trauma-informed supervision for psychologists and other allied health professionals.
Individual Therapy
Psychology sessions are in-person (Melbourne) or online.
My work draws from a range of evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches. These therapies are used flexibly and thoughtfully, guided by your needs and what feels most supportive for you.
A structured, trauma-focused therapy that helps the brain process distressing experiences in a way that reduces their emotional impact over time.
Approaches that gently support awareness of bodily sensations and nervous system responses, recognising the important role the body plays in healing from trauma.
A compassionate way of understanding the different “parts” of yourself, helping you build insight, self-leadership, and greater internal balance.
Practices that support awareness, focus, and the ability to stay present with your experience, without judgement or pressure to change.
Clinical Supervision
I also provide clinical supervision for psychologists and allied health professionals (via telehealth and in-person).
Supervision is offered as a reflective, relational space that supports professional development, ethical practice, and sustainable ways of working—particularly when engaging in trauma-focused care.

Frequently Asked Questions
DO I NEED A REFERRAL?
You don’t need a referral to see a psychologist.
If you do have a referral or a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP or psychiatrist, you may be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate.
Please bring your referral or Mental Health Care Plan to your first appointment, or you’re welcome to ask your doctor to send it through directly via email or fax.
I also accept referrals through the Victims of Crime program. However, unfortunately at this time I do not have capacity to take on TAC, Worksafe or NDIS clients.
MEDICARE
You may be eligible to claim sessions through Medicare, if you get a Mental Health Care (MHCP).
To access a MHCP, your doctor will complete an assessment of your current psychological needs. When booking this appointment, it’s helpful to let the receptionist know you’re seeking a Mental Health Care Plan so enough time can be allocated.
Medicare currently provides rebates for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year. Mental Health Care Plans are initially issued for up to six sessions. After these sessions, I’ll provide a brief report to your referring doctor, and you’ll need to book a review appointment with them to access the remaining sessions.
Please bring your referral or Mental Health Care Plan to your first appointment, or you’re welcome to ask your doctor to send it through directly via email or fax.
The rebate from Medicare for a clinical psychology session is $145.25.
WHAT ARE THE FEES?
Consultation Fees
The fee for a standard 50-minute individual therapy session is $245. With a Medicare rebate, the out-of-pocket cost is approximately $99.75 per session. Fees are set below the recommended schedule of the Australian Psychological Society.
For extended 90-minute EMDR processing sessions, the fee is $350.
Session fees are payable on the day of your appointment and are processed automatically in line with our practice payment policy.
Medicare rebates
The standard Medicare rebate for sessions with a Clinical Psychologist is $145.25. Once you reach the Medicare Safety Net threshold, you may be eligible for a higher rebate for subsequent sessions.
Private Health Insurance Rebates
If you have private health insurance with extras cover for psychology, you may be able to claim a rebate through your fund. In this case, a claimable receipt will be provided for you to submit directly. Please note that it is not possible to claim both Medicare and private health insurance for the same session.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE?
I understand that unexpected situations can arise. To support the therapeutic process and ensure appointment times are available for all clients, I ask that you provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your session.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a fee of 50% of the session cost. Cancellations within 24 hours, or non-attendance without notice, may be charged at the full session fee. Medicare rebates are not available for cancellation or missed appointment fees.
If unexpected circumstances arise, you’re welcome to discuss this with me.
HOW DO I PAY FOR SESSIONS?
To support transparency and ease, session fees and any applicable Medicare rebates are processed automatically using your nominated credit or debit card following each appointment. This removes the need to manage payment during your session.
By providing your payment details and attending sessions, you consent to fees being processed in this way in line with professional and ethical requirements.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN MY FIRST SESSION?
Your first session is a chance to meet, get to know each other, and see whether working together feels like a good fit. We’ll begin to explore what’s brought you to therapy, what feels important to you, and how therapy might support you. I’ll also explain how I work and answer any questions you have. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.
Healing happens in connection. You don’t have to do it alone.
